Orientation Program for incoming MBA students of batch 2023
Day 1
The orientation for I MBA 2023 batch started with 'About Sona' by Dr. P K. Anjani, HoD, MBA.
It was a brief introduction about the history of Sona institutions, Sona school of business and management. She also mentioned about the Management and the milestone of sona Institutions. Added to this, she mentioned the achievements that has marked Sona institutions to the Greater Heights.
It was thought provoking speech given by Dr. N. Nithya on Achievements of sona school of business and management. She has given a brief information about the academic activities of SSoBM and extra curricular activities. She also mentioned the CDP project and other various achivements by the students.
It was a thought provoking and informative speech on Indian knowledge systems by Dr. Paramasivam, Associate Professor, EEE and COE,Sona College of Technology. He narrated how the oldens days are important and how people use to judge the climatic conditions. He also mentioned and gave a detailed information about the culture, festivals, and spices were used students wad eagerly attending and answering enthusiastically.
Day 2
The Day 2 of orientation was started by Dr.D.Immanuel, Associate Professor, MBA on ???Tie up with Industry associations???. It was a thought provoking session, were students were clearly given consciousness about the placement -National and International and the necessary knowledge they are to equip with to attain the same. He also mentioned the list of companies that visit our college and the importance of Family business and Entrepreneurship with its future profitability.
It was an interactive session about the need for MBA and it's opportunity by Dr.P.Praba Devi, Associate Professor, MBA. Students perceived the knowledge on global perspective opportunities. They were made known the skills they would acquire through Sona School of Business and Management. She also mentioned the importance of Network building with industry persons and how super Specialization works and it's importance. She gave an overview of the MBA programme that includes the internal assessment components such as the case study, Assignment, internship, seminars, NPTEL and other online course to be registered. Finally she said about the functions of various clubs in each sector.
Dr. D. Senthilkumar, HoD, Mech & Dean Student affairs, delivered the session on PLM in Automobile.The session was informative about the product life cycle management. Components of product were mentioned by him. He also mentioned the tire 1 2 3 companies to the students and how the product is manufactured. Product design and knowledge based AcD collaboration and workflow was also mentioned by him along with the potential benefits of product life cycle management. He said about the Historical view of PLM. He also mentioned about the Digital Mock up, Rules governed design, commercial PLM system and industry adaptation.
A session on ???AI in Management??? was delivered by Dr. J. Akilandeswari, Dean Academics & HoD IT, Sona College of Technology. It was Knowledgeable and informative session about the AI in the management. She explained on how AI is important and it's trends. She narrated a novel in a short form where AI was very important in olden days. It was also a thought provoking session. She also mentioned in 2050 the world will be 50 and 50 that is people and technology will be in 50% each. Students were benefitted with this trending awareness.
It was an interactive session and learning about the banking sector by Mr. Keshav Raj. Chief Manager, Zonal Office, Indian Bank. And he also mentioned about the wealth Management of the Banking sector, about the private and public banks in India, the course to be done to get placed in banking sector, the scope of Banking sector, how a customer should be known about the banking sector. He also insisted upon importance of Banking for all group of people from different backgrounds in there UG programme and the importance of marketing in banking sector. He showed the Hierarchy and ranking in the banking sector. Finally he clarified the doubts raised by the students.
It was a thought provoking session by Mr. Alauddin, Trainer, MBA on Goal Setting for the students he said about the importance of goal setting and how students should map their career. Students were interacting with much enthusiasm. He said upon the 7 rule s to have a balanced life style. And he also conducted a fun task for students. He mentioned how a career is build when we have a strong goal within us. He also taught the students about the time management
An Executive Interaction session on Leadership was given by Dr. Kadhar Navaz, Principal, Sona College of Arts and Science. It was a motivating and interactive session to the students. He has also taken up the examples of the great leaders and their leadership qualities. He has greatly taught the way on how students should be in their life as a good human being with proper discipline as a leader, how to be aware of current trends. He shared his own life experience that helps the students to develop their career in Family business and entrepreneurship.
Day 3
Dr. D. Raja, HoD, FT, SCT, Technology and Management in FT
The Guest started his oration by saying that Global Function industry is most important one, India is top 5 countries for Approval of Transport of different abled people. the facts given by him was that India is the second biggest country to produce Cotton(Raw material, According to the Indian E-com trends report of unicorn is 29.66% FY 2022. The 8 technology of the FT was also discussed and he also Said the Positives work done by Sona College of technology in (FT).
Dr. S. Prabakar, HoD, Bio Medical, Healthcare Technology and Management
The general level of diagnosis method was discussed by him. He also inculcated the message of what is Bio medical engineering, and why it is important. During COVID how bio medical engineer professionals are important to the doctors. Digital health care was a intersting interaction with students. The importance of digital healthcare. Global scenario in usage, wearable health technology Roadmap. Medical robotics used in high classes hospitals and robotic surgery because of this the blood waste is minimum but the it is costly. Key Demand and supply drivers. He mentioned the 4 fundamental blocks are important. The stakeholders in public healthcare services, trends in healthcare industry was also discussed with the students.
Dr. S. Jayabharathi, HoD, Mathematics, Analytical skills for Managers
She has started her oration with the introduction that is What are tools can be used for analytics. What is analytical thinking. Then she as inplant the idea of how a analytical skills can be done by finding root cause of problem how it should be indentified, The steps involved in the analytical thinking, Data and information Analysis. The calculation and analytical thinking is all about statistics. The communication is important as analytical skills.
Dr. R. Malathy, HoD, Civil, New Initiatives in Infrastructure and Technology
The session was started by giving the basic introduction about the infrastructure. How Digital Construction has grown, the trends, current affairs was also discussed. The detail note about Pre fabrications, modular construction, virtual reality and augmented Reality. The current Trend in Jewellery industry about 3D printing of Jewellery was also mentioned. How drones are used in Construction field also mentioned by her.
Dr. M.S. Kamalaveni, Assistant Professor, MBA, Awareness on POSH Act
The Law and Order of the country regarding the POSH act and importance of POSH act was mentioned by the speaker. The Difference between Dowry and Sithanam was also clearly Mentioned. What are the rights the women have when they face sexual abuse and how should they react and how should they face etc., Few Case studies were given to the students and told them to answer. And students Actively Participated and Answer the Session.
Dr. R. S. Sabeenian, HoD, ECE, Latest Trends in ECE
The session was stared on telling the importance of the Internet of things, Internet is everything. How the technology places a Vital role in the Todays fast moving the world. The Trends and Growth of internet from Olden days to till day as vastly changed and it has Given a lot of changes in people way of life their livings. The uses and bons of Technology were also discussed by the Guest and how technology is important in infrastructure Industry.
