Prospects for MBAs is poised to grow at an alarming pace and they will be called to solve complex problems of organizations increasingly in the coming days said Mr.Thyagu Valliappa at the 21st.Graduation Day of Sona College of Technology.
Delivering MBA Graduation address as Chief Guest of the function, Mr.Thyagu Valliappa said MBAs with technology background will be most sought after because they would be all-rounders. The industry is of the strong view that MBAs are effective problem solvers. Hence they are highly-priced about which they can feel proud off. Emerging hi-tech industries using technologies like AI, IoT and Machine Learning would need MBAs to manage these resources he said.
???Sona College being a technology college, over 60 percent of the MBA students are from technology background. The quality of MBAs is improving every year which is being reflected in the increase in annual salaries from Rs 3.92 lakhs to Rs.4.75 lakhs. The college has targeted to raise the salary annual package to Rs 6 lakhs,??? said Mr. Thyagu.
Talking of the immense potential of the family business sector he said that it will be the next big game-canger for Salem. He encouraged students to make brand Salem popular for its uniqueness like textiles in Karur and Tirupur, borewells in Namakkal district etc.

While the Sona MBAs have made impressive record in the placement front, emphasis is also being laid on promoting entrepreneurship,??? said Mr Thyagu asking students to make use of the support ecosystem comprising Sona Garage incubation centre and Sona ??? IIT (Madras) tie up for business incubation.
Encouraging students to cultivate positive mindset and clear goals, Mr.Thyagu also stressed on the need for continued learning as laid out in the New Education Policy (NEP). Sona College is launching many certificate courses for continuous knowledge development, informed Mr.Thyagu.
Chairman, Shri C.Valliappa declared the Graduation Day function open.
Dr. M.Selvaraj, Joint Director, Department of Management Studies, Sona College of Technology and other dignitaries distributed the degrees while Professor Anjali called out the graduates.
